Call for Applications to direct for the latter part of 2018 season.
The Adelaide Repertory Theatre Inc –The Rep – invites directors to propose plays for the latter part of the 2018 season
Founded in 1908, The Rep has a history of producing engaging, entertaining, interesting and at times confronting and challenging plays to our loyal audience and aspires in the future to continue to do so both to them and to its potential audience and wider public. Our home at the Arts Theatre combined with the production experience of The Rep provides a unique venue and opportunity for the presentation of high quality theatrical events and experiences.
Applications are open for the following approximate production time slots in the 2018 season:
* June
* September
* November

Applicants should provide details of no more than two plays the applicant wishes to be considered, information about their theatrical experience, how they see the plays, why they believe the plays are worth presenting and their suitability for performance by The Rep and at the Arts Theatre. Two photocopies/scans of the script of each play should also be provided.
Applicants should nominate which of the above periods is their preferred production time slot and check with the relevant licensing agent for their plays as to the availability of performing rights for that time.
The rights for plays finally chosen will be formally applied for by The Rep.
Rehearsals are held in the rehearsal room at the Arts Theatre on each Tuesday and Thursday evening and Sunday afternoon – subject to the requirement of other theatre users.
Application must be received by no later than 31 January 2017. The closing date is final and late applications will be ineligible for consideration. Prior to any final determination applicant directors may be invited to meet The Rep’s play reading committee and or the Board to discuss their applications.
